Rips in the Weave is the first book in the Mama Cats arc of the Dime Store Novel urban fantasy series. It takes place in New Orleans in 1897. When the story begins, Delilah Cats has fallen in love with Laurent Cheney, a local boy with a reputation for being cruel. Although Delilah believes he has changed, Sassafras (Mama) Cats does not.
